V. & M.: Part 2

With this picture, I will begin the conclusion of my ramblings. Mountains, mountains, mountains! I saw tons of em' on the way up to Donkey Rock, at Donkey Rock, when we climbed Donkey Rock, and on the way back from Donkey Rock. Soo majestic and awesome!
Both the physical and spiritual setting of Donkey Rock was a "mountain top" experience for me (and I'm sure for others as well).
Mountains.
You look up to them and say, "Can I really climb that?" *one of many thoughts that crossed my mind as we began our hike up Donkey Rock
You begin your journey on what seems like a confusing path with confusing twists and turns. But you trust the leaders who have gone before us and climbed up this way countless times. You trust their experience. Their God. And you keep climbing.
You wonder what part of what seemed to be an endlessly steep mountain you're on and if you're actually anywhere on it for that matter.
You're almost to the top now because you don't see any other boulders to scale; it's all sky from here on out. You take that final step and...
you're there.Looking down, the path you traveled make more sense now. "Oh, we had to go that way because of this/that/or the other". And that one singular thought fills your mind: "Wow, I really am at the top!" Or some variation of that.
It's a beautiful thing to be atop a mountain. Refreshing, Renewing. Awe-inspiring. But what makes it even more special is that valley way, way, way down there that you went through to get to this place.
Stop. And be thankful to Him.

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God". ~Hebrews 12:2

Jesus: God in the valley and God on the mountain.
